Getting Started

To help you get started as a College in the Workplace student, the application and registration forms are included below along with other important information.

Application for Admission: Download and complete the Application for Admission form. You may mail it or fax it to our office (810-762-0282). If you have any questions regarding the form, call 800-398-2715.

CWP Counselor: Call the College in the Workplace counselor to discuss your educational objectives and the requirements of the program you have chosen. The counselor will help you with course selection, program selection, and setting up a placement test (assessment of your reading, writing, and math skills).

All applicants who have never attended college before must take a placement test. Transfer students who have taken English and math courses with a GPA of 2.0 or above will not be required to take the placement test.

Your can register for your first semester of courses without taking the placement test, but this assessment should be done as early as possible, especially if you plan to continue taking classes with College in the Workplace.

If your plan to transfer credits from another college, call the college(s) you have attended and request transcripts be sent to Mott. After your transcripts have been evaluated at Mott, you will want to have a phone conference with our CWP counselor. The counselor can help you devise an appropriate schedule of courses to make sure you meet all your requirements for graduation.

Financial Aid: If you are in need of financial aid, visit the Mott Community College Web Site or call our office at 800-398-2715.

Payment Method: CWP tuition is $195 per contact hour with a $35 per semester non-refundable registration fee.
  • If your company has tuition reimbursement for employees, contact the education/training coordinator at your workplace to process your registration paperwork. Your tuition will be deferred until you receive the company voucher to pay for your courses.
  • If your company does not have a tuition reimbursement program, you may select partial payment for your tuition. Your first payment will be one-quarter of your tuition plus the $35 registration fee, due when you send in your registration form.
    • For example, if you register for one 3-contact hour class, your tuition will be $585. Your first quarter payment will be $146.25 plus the $35 registration fee. Your second, third, and fourth payments will be $146.25, due on the 15th of the second, third, and fourth month of the semester.

  • You may also choose to pay the entire tuition at the beginning of the semester.
